Sudesh Gupta: An Indori Corporate guy rides bicycle with a Social Message
This story is about an Indori who wanted to relocate himself from Indore to USA, but later on, he not only changed his mind but also his perception of looking things and decide to somehow work for the welfare of the society along with his routine job.
This is a blog experiment made by the editorial team of Indore Talk, where you will find the story straight from the horse’s mouth rather than from our desk. While Sudesh Ji was narrating his story we found it so interesting that our team decided to publish the story as it was told by Mr. Sudesh Gupta Shivhare himself. The story as narrated by Sudesh himself….
Going to the USA was always in my dreams & was getting flamed year by year. It was the year 2014 when it started bursting up like anything, but the only thing which was lacking is “ I will miss my Indore and its people and mostly the FOOD ”. A very fine routine morning and usual practice for see-through newspaper found a Leaflet attached mentioning to Join Yoga Institute. My eyes shined with a smile on face with a feeling of, Yes, this is what I was looking for. I joined the Yoga classes on the same day. I was feeling amazing day by day, and was turning into a spiritual peaceful mind with strong willpower.
Started riding to office by Bicycle!
One day while driving to the office a car passed away with a small write-up on the back of it “कार धीमे चलाएं हमंने अपना खोया है गति के कारण, आप भी किसी के अपने है, कृपया कार नियंत्रित गति में चलाएं” made me pull my foot from accelerator. After a lot of Awakening by YOGA from inner to the outer circle of mind and body, I thought to change my daily routine, thus planned to go Office by Cycling which was almost 11 km from my house, the moment idea stroked in mind I went to purchase a bicycle, after getting it and practising for few days ( as has never cycled in life except learning period).
I finalized to move ahead with my plans of HOME TO OFFICE TO HOME. With all my guts feelings I started and somehow reached office in 1 hour completely tired and sweating, fall on a sofa but somehow recovered soon and started routine office work with a tension of, how will I return Home?, somehow with a lot of regenerated willpower returned back to home with a realization of pain and tiredness unable to eat dinner took pain relief pills with a body oil massage. Very next day started the day with Yoga with a deep feeling about continuing Cycling or not, but as strong willpower was generated, I re-planned it and then it took around 15 days of continuity, my body got in habit of it and made my things easier. While cycling for approx a month, it was a boring feeling for me that cycling all the way alone and gazing here and there, as I was in strong feeling to make it a motivation for others too to do cycling, but people and some of the colleague was laughing on this attempt. I was least concerned about them and was thinking the up-gradation of my cycling instinct.
Not more than a completion of 2nd month, the idea of putting an inspiring or motivational poster (similar I saw on the car) strike back and the planning of working on it started. What to write?, How to display? Effects on Public, Response of people, were in thoughts. As per science, a human mind thinks around 60000 thoughts and merely we practically workout approx 60-100 thoughts in a day. But, the main thought was 1 st caption, in those days Indian Prime Minister was very much loud and inspired to keep your area and neighbourhood clean, yes, it’s great to aware more and more people in your proximity, thus the 1 st caption “आपका शहर जब तक ही साफसुथरा है जब तक आप चाहेंगे” then now where to display it , with a lot of mind storming it was finally thought to prepare my
back bag for it, thus went to a tailor for fixing up velcro on it one side stitched on bag and another to be stapled on bag pack . The idea turned up to be great.
Next morning while moving on the road, people appraised me with thumbs up, people stopped me to take selfie and photo’s of the caption, within no time my caption was viral in Newspapers as it was the same time when INDORE Commissioner Mr. Manish Singh and Mayor Mrs. Malini Gaur started their mission of CLEAN & GREEN INDORE to bring Indore at No. 1. position in Swachh Survekshan.
2. It was about Female/Girl bike or scooter riders who were rarely interested in wearing Helmet, thus to inspire and motivate them about the needs of Helmet the caption for Helmet was made, but it was FAILED as none of the ladies turned up with thumbs up, in fact they were more concerned with covering their face with SCARF then their head with Helmet.
3. In the meantime state govt. again initiated and get strict on wearing the Helmet by passing a regulatory of “those who will wear a helmet only he will get PETROL”, somehow some people dive in with the business idea of giving helmet on rent amounting 5 to 10/- rs at the entry of petrol pump and take back on exit, which disappointed me but new IDEA came with a caption. Amazingly this Idea again got flourished & luckily caught by former Indore Collector P.Narhari, he posted my snap on his facebook wall, wherein the photo was liked like anything.
Gradually more helmet , seatbelts importance alerts caption were floating on road with a lot of appreciation in the meantime while going through newspapers a new saddening news were coming of KIDS SUICIDE cases because of poor performance in exam or failure fear or punishments from parents, which made me into deep thought of writing a caption for motivation to KIDS & PARENTS.
Fortunately, it strikes among the public with a lot of photographs, selfie, in mid I planned to stand in front of schools to motivate kids at the end of school time & parents can also see who is coming to pick them up.
Thus all these events came on rest as I went on my dream trip to the USA then to Canada, no doubt, I will soon resume it for myself and Awaken Indorians.
