Indore Airport bags the Best Airport Award in Asia Pacific region

Another milestone added to the success story of Indore, City’s Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport bags the award of best airport in Asia Pacific region by prestigious Airport Council International (ACI). The selection was made in the category of two million passenger traffic and customer satisfaction. Indore is the first time winner challenging best-in-class airports in the delivery of top-quality customer service making the customer experience a high priority.

What the Airport Director has to say

Overwhelmed by the success of the Indore airport, Indore Airport Director Aryama Sanyal said that “It’s really a proud moment for all of us. Only two airports from India are selected for this award. Indore and Ahmadabad are only two airports from India in the list of 15 airports across the world selected for this prestigious award.” She also said that the selection was made based on a survey containing 34 key points. Indore Airport was selected in the category of airports having under two million passenger traffic annually.

The survey was conducted by Airport Service Quality (ASQ), A world-renowned global non-profit organization and independent agency of Airport Operators. This survey was conducted worldwide to measure passengers satisfaction while traveling through an airport. The ACI carries out international benchmarking of the airport through its participative program known as Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey which covers 34 key service areas covering eight major categories such as access, check-in, security, airport facilities, food and beverage, retail and more.

Previous record holders of the award

In the year 2016, Jaipur and Srinagar Airports have been rated the top two airports in the world in 2-5 million passengers per annum category. In the year 2015, Jaipur and Lucknow Airports bagged the first two ranks in the 2-5 million passengers per annum category, while Goa and Trivandrum Airports bagged fourth and fifth position under the same category. In the same year, Srinagar Airport has adjudged the second best airport in the world under the category of airports handling up to 2 million passengers per annum. In 2013 and 2014, Kolkata Airport was rated as the ‘Most Improved Airport’ in the Asia Pacific region by ACI.
