When we count on the well-known cities of India, no one can forget to take a pause on the name of Indore (one of the most happening City of Madhya Pradesh). Better known as Food-Junction, Indore also has a rich heritage and regal culture. Being a commercial capital Indore can be seen as shopping hub too. A lot to see, a lot to experience. Being an Indorian I can say – Bhiyaa…Indore Ghumne Chal Riye Ho Kya…??? Here’s our ultimate guide to what to see in 2 days in Indore. Spend your 48 hours in Indore by visiting top places and experiencing the nightlife!
Day 1 | Bright Sunny Day, Don’t forget to take your water bottle.
Let’s start the day with the amazing Naashta i.e., Poha-Jalebi-Kachori Ka Awesome Combination (upon which heart of every Indorian falls). These snacks are available at each footstep in Indore. But the best you will get at Chappan Dukaan. Place where there were 56 separate shops at times and now it is Nashte Ka Thikaana.
From here you can move on to visit Kaanch Mandir, a famous Jain temple entirely made up of glass and mirrors. This temple was built by the Cotton King Sir Hukamchand Seth in the early 20th century. The walls, ceiling, floor, pillars, doors, everything here is entirely adorned with glass.
Moving ahead you should look at The Rajwada a historical Palace. It was built by the Holkars of the Maratha Empire about two centuries ago. This is the Palace where Mata Ahilyabai Holkar, the param devotee of Lord Shiva lived. Opposite to the Palace, there is a garden which has Ahilaybai’s big statue with Lord Shiva in her lap.
As for now, you must be hungry…so let’s have some more tastes. Indori Hotdog, Khopra Pattis, Chole Tikiya Chaat and much more will give some rest to your tummy. All are there for you at famous food outlets like Vijay Chaat House, Sangam Chat Corner and many more just nearby.
Be energized and refuel yourself for the next place Pilpiyapala Regional Park. Various attractions in the park include Boating, Musical Fountain, Jumping Jet Fountain, Artist’s Village, Indian Gardens/Necklace Gardens, French Gardens, Maze/Labyrinth, Bio-diversity Garden, Mist Fountain, Lake-view Point, Amphitheatre, and Fast food Zone !!

If you want to avoid facing these astonishing words, come and enjoy the street food of Sarafa. It’s basically a silver and gold jewelry market in the daytime but at night it completely turns into food hub that includes all kind of food you can imagine of – Desi Chaats, South Indian, Chinese, North Indian, and other unknown categories too. But never ever forget to include following in your menu – Bhutte Ka Kees, Khatte Meethe Joshiji Ke Dahibade, Garadu with masala and others… Now time for desserts, the list is bit long but few can be counted as – Rabdi Gulaab Jamun, Gaajar Ka Halwa, and Nagori Ki Shikanji…

Have breakfast – tasty Aaloo Kachori at Ravi Alpahaar and then head up to Lalbagh Palace. This splendid palace is spread over an area of 28 hectares and is one of the most prominent buildings of architecture in Indore.
Now you must visit the world famous mythical places like Khajrana Ganesh Temple (Biggest Ganesh temple of MP) and Bada Ganpati Temple (temple with tallest Lord Ganesh idol of Asia). These temples are unique in their own rich historical stories and commendable infrastructure.
